Over thirteen years of laboratory experience in both Newborn Screening and Organic Chemistry extractions. Over five years lab prep and analysis on enzyme and biomarker/biochemical assays for a number of lysosomal storage diseases using UPLC-MSMS; Waters TQS Micro, Waters Xevo TQ, Perkin Elmer QSight 225 MD.
My most recent positions before moving to Switzerland in August 2023 was a Research Scientist in the Chemistry Department and as a Laboratory Manager in the Pediatrics Department at the University of Washington. In these positions I was responsible for testing new biomarker and enzyme assays for a variety of lysosomal storage diseases in newborns. This includes sample prep, analyzing results, troubleshooting problems in assay performance and equipment, collation of data results, contributing to publications regarding the progress of new clinical laboratory and population screening tests, maintaining all lab safety certifications and compliance in accordance with the Chemistry Department and University of Washington guidelines, including adherence to WSIRB (Washington State Institutional Review Board).
All samples were analyzed using either Waters TQS Micro or Xevo TQ Tandem Mass Spectrometer.
