I recently graduated with a Master’s in computer science engineering specializing in cybersecurity with a double diploma offered by EPFL and ETHZ. I have gained valuable experience as a software engineer during multiple internships and most recently at Armasuisse (Swiss Federal Office of Defense Procurement) where I worked as a security software engineer on GPS security to detect disturbances and signal interference.
Throughout my academic journey, I have had the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships and academic projects. One of my most notable experiences was my recent internship at armasuisse, where I played a crucial role in creating a Python-based data pipeline for retrieving GPS positioning data from Swisstopo antennas. This project involved designing and implementing a Docker-based architecture for real-time data retrieval and processing, as well as setting up a Grafana dashboard for visualizing the data.
Additionally, I utilized machine learning and statistical methods to develop an anomaly detection system for identifying GPS disturbances, fulfilling the main objective of this internship.
Additionally, my internship experience at Swissborg provided me with practical knowledge of financial markets and trading. During this internship, I developed an arbitrage bot in Scala, exploiting arbitrage opportunities between CEX and DEX platforms. This experience sparked my interest in financial markets and inspired me to apply for a software engineer position in the FinTech and financial industry.
During this internship, I also learned how to use essential software engineering technologies for large IT projects such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Grafana.
During my Bachelor’s at EPFL, I completed my Bachelor Thesis Project in the “Decentralized Distributed Systems” (DEDIS) laboratory under the guidance of Professor Bryan Ford. In this role, I managed the front-end development of an Android application coded in Java, which provided me with valuable experience in object-oriented programming. Working collaboratively with a team of software engineers, we implemented an electronic voting system based on the “Proof of Personhood” identity verification protocol.
This work earned me a commendable grade of 5.75/6 for my Bachelor’s thesis, and I received a letter of recommendation from my Professor.
