About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Application Development department for insurance composite applications. In this role, you will be responsible for independently developing and maintaining applications within an agile environment, primarily concentrating on the insurance composite sector. You will work closely with Product Owners to understand business requirements and translate them into effective user stories, ensuring alignment with technical feasibility and organizational goals.

Collaboration with various Fachbereiche (specialist departments) is essential to optimize implementation strategies and deliver high-quality solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of agile processes and methodologies within your team and across projects, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a university degree in (Wirtschafts-)Informatik or a comparable qualification, complemented by relevant professional experience. You should possess in-depth expertise in Java development, particularly with Java and Jakarta EE frameworks. Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Selenium is essential.

Practical experience working within agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, including hybrid approaches, is highly desirable. Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for daily project management and documentation is expected. Knowledge of Cobol, SQL, or Mainframe technologies is advantageous but not mandatory.

The candidate must demonstrate high reliability, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Fluency in German at least at C1 level is required to ensure effective collaboration and communication within the team and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining robust applications tailored to the insurance sector, ensuring high standards of code quality and performance. You will collaborate with Product Owners to analyze and understand business needs, translating these into technical specifications and user stories. Participating actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, you will help refine agile processes and improve team productivity.

You will also coordinate with Fachbereiche to ensure that technical solutions align with organizational requirements and standards. Continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies and methodologies are vital to keep our solutions innovative and competitive. Additionally, you will support testing activities using tools like Selenium, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and assist in deploying applications on Kubernetes clusters.

Your role involves proactive communication with team members and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity throughout the development lifecycle.
