More than 10 years of experience in Hardware design. Worked on Firmware development, telematics, fleet tracking, signal and image processing, artificial neural networks.
Experienced in real-time monitoring for heavy duty and light duty vehicles.
Design and development of embedded software and hardware for vehicle telemetry, focusing on both heavy and light vehicles, as well as machinery, using the CAN bus. Experienced in working with standard protocols like J1939, J1708 and J1587 commonly used in heavy vehicles. Experienced in dealing with proprietary vehicle protocols using CAN and OBD2 protocols (Mercedes Benz, Citroen, etc) by utilizing black-box testing methodologies, which include on-field testing and data correlation from the vehicle's ECU.
Transmission of the extracted data, along with GPS positioning, using TRAXs to an IoT-based web platform. Conducted functional testing and compatibility testing across various vehicle models. Redesign of Firmware architecture using ESP32 Microcontrollers and FreeRTOS.
Communication with sensors I2C, 1-Wire. Development of CAN filtering algorithms. Collaborated with a team of engineers utilizing Gitlab to manage and review code changes.
I was also involved in developing bootloader and firmware over-the-air (OTA) update features for our devices. This allowed for remote updating of the firmware, reducing the need for physical access to the devices and making products easier and more cost-effective to maintain.
Lithium ion and lead battery power supplies development for increasing autonomy of MDVR and satellite tracking devices (Orbcomm), using vehicle position and state.
Firmware development for Bluetooth smart locks (ESP32) designed for vehicle cargo doors, compatible with Android phones.
PCB design in Eagle, testing and manufacturing process in China
