Privacy Settings and Profile Visibility

BeBee gives you granular control over your privacy. You decide who can see your profile, whether search engines can index it, and how your data is used across the platform.

How to Access Privacy Settings

1. Log in to your BeBee account.
2. Navigate to Dashboard > Settings.
3. Select the Privacy tab.

Profile Visibility

Control who can view your BeBee profile:

• Public -- Anyone on BeBee can find and view your profile. This is the default setting and gives you maximum exposure to recruiters and employers.
• Connections Only -- Only people you are connected with can see your full profile. Others see a limited summary.
• Private -- Your profile is hidden from all search results and browsing. Only people you have directly contacted or applied to can view it.

Changing your visibility takes effect immediately across the platform.

Search Engine Indexing

When enabled, your public profile may appear in Google, Bing, and other search engine results. This can help recruiters discover you outside of BeBee.

• Enabled (default for public profiles): Search engines can index your profile.
• Disabled: BeBee sends a deindexing request to major search engines. Your profile will be removed from search results over the following days to weeks, depending on the search engine.

To change this setting:

1. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Privacy.
2. Toggle Search Engine Indexing on or off.
3. Click Save Changes.

Data Sharing Preferences

BeBee may use anonymized data for platform analytics and service improvements. You can opt out:

• Analytics and Improvements -- Toggle off to exclude your data from aggregated analytics.
• Third-party Sharing -- BeBee does not sell your personal data. This toggle controls whether anonymized, non-identifying data may be shared with partners for research purposes.

Both options are fully compliant with GDPR. Opting out does not affect your ability to use any BeBee feature.

GDPR Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data (see Data Export).
• Rectify inaccurate information by editing your profile.
• Erase your data (see Delete Account).
• Restrict processing through the data sharing toggles above.
• Portability -- download your data in a machine-readable format.
