Sending Your First Message

BeBee messaging lets you communicate directly with professionals, recruiters, and service providers without leaving the platform. Every conversation starts through BeBee's built-in system to keep your personal contact details private until you choose to share them.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the user's profile you want to contact.
2. Click the "Send Message" button on their profile page. This always opens BeBee messaging -- it will not send an email or reveal your phone number.
3. Write your message in the text field at the bottom of the conversation window.
4. Add attachments (optional) by clicking the attachment icon. You can share documents, images, or other files.
5. Press Send or hit Enter to deliver your message.

Where to Find Your Messages

• Go to Dashboard > Messages to view all your conversations.
• On mobile devices, the messaging interface is fully optimized -- if you already have an existing conversation with someone, tapping "Send Message" on their profile redirects you straight to that thread.

Tips for Effective Messaging

• Be specific. State who you are and why you are reaching out in the first line.
• Keep it professional. Clear, concise messages get faster responses.
• Check your notifications. Enable push notifications so you never miss a reply.
• Use attachments wisely. If a job posting asks for a resume, attach it directly in your first message rather than waiting to be asked.

What Happens Next

Once the recipient replies, you have an active conversation thread. Messages update in real time, so you can chat back and forth without refreshing the page. If the other party has premium access and you have established a connection (through an application or proposal), additional contact options such as phone, WhatsApp, or email may become visible.
