Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 10 years of product management experience in the automotive, autonomous driving, or high-tech industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex hardware-software integrated products from 0 to 1, preferably in L2/L2 ADAS or smart cockpit domains.
  • Technical Acumen:
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end architecture of autonomous driving systems. You don't need to write code, but you must be able to deeply communicate with architects and engineers about sensor fusion, algorithms, compute platforms (e.g., NVIDIA, Horizon Robotics), and functional safety (ISO 26262).
  • Familiarity with the Chinese EV and smart truck supply chain ecosystem.
  • Business &

    • Strategic Thinking: Excellent ability to analyze market trends, define product positioning, and calculate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value propositions for B2B clients.

  • Communication &

    • Leadership: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.

Employment Type: Full-time About the Role As Scania accelerates its "In China, For China" strategy under the Next Era initiative, we are building a cutting-edge, software-defined commercial vehicle ecosystem. We are seeking a strategic and technically savvy Senior Product Manager to lead our Advanced Algorithm solution development. You will act as the vital bridge between complex system architecture, customer needs, and business viability.

Your mission is to translate high-level technical capabilities into market-leading features that redefine safety, efficiency, and driver experience for the Chinese logistics market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Own the product roadmap for in-house AD features (e.g., Highway Pilot, Navigate on Autopilot for trucks). Drive the process from initial concept, requirement definition, and development, through to validation, mass-production launch (SOP), and post-launch iteration.
  • Architecture-to-Product Translation: Collaborate closely with System Architects and Engineering leads to understand the technical boundaries and potentials of our architecture, sensor suite (LiDAR, Radar, Camera), and computing platforms (SoC). Translate these technical constraints and capabilities into viable, competitive product features.
  • Market &

    • Customer Insight: Conduct deep-dive research into the Chinese commercial vehicle landscape. Gather insights from local logistics fleets, drivers, and dealers to define user-centric features that address real-world pain points—such as fuel efficiency (TCO optimization), driver fatigue reduction, and complex traffic scenario handling.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the central hub coordinating between R&D (Perception, Planning, Control teams), Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales. Ensure that the developed AD solution aligns with the overall Next Era product positioning and go-to-market strategy.
  • Competitive Benchmarking &

    • Tech Strategy: Continuously monitor the rapidly evolving ADAS/AD market in China (including tech giants and startups). Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., BEV Transformer models, End-to-End learning) and recommend strategic adjustments to keep Scania’s solution at the forefront of the industry.

  • Commercial Viability &

    • Cost Control: Work with procurement and finance teams to manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) cost of the ADAS solution. Balance premium feature sets with cost targets to ensure strong market competitiveness and profitability.
