Application Engineer

该职位来源于猎聘 JOB SUMMARY Supports application engineering and quotation activities for ITT Mixing Solution in China and global projects supported by the Xidu facility. The role combines routine application and costing support with front-end digitalization, data standardization and technical content development. Working across engineering, sales and support functions, the incumbent translates business requirements and engineering information into consistent workflows, usable tools and reusable materials.

Application responsibilities develop through structured product training and supervised practice, with technical review and approval following established engineering authority. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Application and Quotation Support -Review customer inquiries and specifications, organize process and equipment data, and identify missing information for clarification with Sales and experienced engineers. -Prepare technical proposals, application data sheets and supporting documentation using approved methods and templates, subject to the required engineering review. -Prepare routine intercompany costings and support quotation costing using approved SAP standard costs and supplier quotations. Identify estimates and record cost sources, assumptions and revisions. -Coordinate with Mechanical and Order Engineering and Sourcing on preliminary drawings, component information and supplier inquiries through established approval and communication processes. -Maintain accurate inquiry, quotation and order information in ERP and CRM systems.

Support order reconciliation and complete handover of agreed scope and documentation. -Develop capability in standard mixer applications and equipment selection through training and supervised assignments. Refer complex sizing, mechanical design and final technical approval to designated engineering authorities.

Front End

Digitalization and Data Management -Map workflows from customer inquiry through application selection, costing, quotation and order handover. Identify repeated data entry, unclear responsibilities and opportunities for improvement. -Standardize and maintain assigned application, product and costing data with functional owners, including field definitions, units, source references and creation, review and update procedures. -Translate user needs into documented requirements, workflow diagrams and simple interface or document layouts. Improve information hierarchy, clarity and ease of use. -Coordinate user acceptance testing with Application Engineering and Mechanical and Order Engineering.

Record test cases, issues and required approvals; obtain engineering validation of calculation rules and outputs before release. -Track agreed milestones, dependencies, actions and risks with business teams and internal or external IT resources. Communicate progress and escalate unresolved issues, including to global stakeholders as required. -Maintain controlled versions of templates, user guides and reference data. Support training, deployment and user feedback, and verify that changes are reflected consistently in working tools and documents.

Technical

Content and Marketing Coordination -Work with Sales and engineers to collect and structure application knowledge, project references, case studies and product benefits for proposals, presentations and technical materials. -Develop clear content briefs and drafts, and coordinate with Marketing on professional presentation and brand consistency. Obtain technical-owner review before external use. -Organize approved materials for reuse across regions and support updates as products, applications and customer requirements change. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES -Engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn mixing applications, equipment components, technical specifications and quotation processes. -Strong analytical skills, attention to data accuracy and the ability to document sources, assumptions, exceptions and decisions. -Ability to structure technical information and produce clear, professional layouts, presentations and user-facing materials, demonstrated through relevant work examples. -Practical experience in coordinating cross-functional work, clarifying responsibilities and following actions through to completion. -Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

SAP or comparable ERP experience is preferred; Power BI, workflow automation or low-code tools are advantages. -Clear written and spoken Mandarin and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with local and global technical and commercial teams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. -At least three years of relevant experience in an industrial or technical product environment. Relevant backgrounds include application engineering, product management, master data management, business process improvement, technical marketing or cross-functional project coordination. -Experience working with engineering, R&D, production or quality teams is important. Prior mixer selection experience is an advantage.
