Associate Engineer

Job Title: Associate Engineer Position Summary The Associate Engineer role reports directly to the Engineering Department. The role supports NPI project teams through the planning and execution of inspection and product verification activities during product development phases. This position works closely with cross-functional engineering and quality teams to execute inspections, collect and document measurement data, and compile test and inspection reports to support project deliverables.

The role provides hands-on exposure to metrology equipment, inspection methods, fixture development, and manufacturing processes, while offering growth opportunities in areas such as specification assessment, CAD design, GD&T interpretation, measurement system analysis (MSA), and inspection strategy development. Candidates should possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Support NPI project teams with inspection and product verification activities throughout development and manufacturing builds.

• Execute dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using standard metrology equipment and inspection tools.
• Collect, organize, and document measurement data and inspection results.
• Compile inspection reports, test summaries, and supporting quality documentation for internal and customer deliverables.
• Assist in the development and refinement of inspection methods and procedures.
• Support setup and use of fixtures, gauges, and inspection tooling to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to communicate inspection findings and support issue resolution activities.
• Participate in prototype, pilot, and verification build activities.
• Maintain organized inspection records and support compliance with quality system requirements.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection efficiency, measurement accuracy, and documentation processes.
• Learn and develop skills related to GD&T, metrology principles, MSA, and fixture design under guidance from senior engineering staff. ________________________________________ Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred • Internship, co-op, laboratory, or manufacturing experience.
• Exposure to dimensional inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, or CMMs.
• Familiarity with CAD software and basic fixture concepts.
• Exposure to quality or manufacturing environments.
• Basic understanding of GD&T or metrology principles.
