Cloud Engineer

We are looking for two Cloud Operations Engineers to support customers running workloads on Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud), including Kubernetes-based applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud infrastructure operations, troubleshooting, and customer support. While hands-on Alibaba Cloud experience is preferred, candidates with solid AWS experience and the ability to transfer their knowledge to Alibaba Cloud are also encouraged to apply.

This is primarily an operations and troubleshooting role rather than a cloud architecture or software development position.

Title: Cloud Operations Engineer (AWS / Alibaba Cloud)

Location: Shanghai (Remote)

Duration: 12 Months contract

Salary Range Yearly: CN¥345,000 – CN¥522,500

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to cloud infrastructure, primarily within Alibaba Cloud.

Support customers running Kubernetes workloads, including understanding issues related to clusters, deployments, networking, and application availability.

Investigate cloud infrastructure incidents involving compute, networking, storage, access permissions, and service availability.

Work with customers to understand reported problems, identify possible causes, and provide clear guidance or resolutions.

Use cloud administration tools, command-line interfaces, and logs to diagnose issues.

Escalate complex problems to engineering teams when necessary and coordinate through resolution.

Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and recurring issues.

Assist with basic scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

3–5+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure support, systems engineering, or a related technical support role.

Hands-on experience supporting AWS or Alibaba Cloud environments.

Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, including compute, networking, storage, DNS, and identity/access management.

Working knowledge of Kubernetes, including the ability to understand customer questions involving clusters, pods, deployments, and common operational issues.

Experience diagnosing infrastructure or application availability issues in production environments.

Familiarity with command-line tools, log analysis, and troubleshooting processes.

Basic programming or scripting knowledge, preferably Python or Bash.

Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal engineering teams.

Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new cloud technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience with Alibaba Cloud services such as ECS, VPC, RAM, SLB, or ACK.

AWS experience with services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, or ELB.

Hands-on experience troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads.

Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure automation tools.

Experience in technical support, production operations, SRE, or incident management.

Experience supporting enterprise customers or cloud platforms at scale.
