该职位来源于猎聘 Job Description We are looking for a Staff~Sr Staff-level CPU Workload & Performance Engineer to work on next-generation mobile CPU platforms. This role focuses on real-world mobile workload characterization, CPU performance and power analysis, hardware/software co-optimization, and system-level tuning. The engineer will work across CPU architecture, operating systems, and mobile applications to identify performance and efficiency bottlenecks and drive data-based optimizations for commercial products.
Key Responsibilities
- Characterize real-world mobile applications and benchmark workloads, including Android and/or iOS/iPhone use cases, to identify CPU performance, power, latency, and efficiency bottlenecks.
- Analyze workload behavior against CPU microarchitecture characteristics, including pipeline behavior, IPC, cache/memory hierarchy, branch prediction, stalls, frequency scaling, and memory-bandwidth sensitivity.
- Profile and tune system behavior on mobile platforms, including CPU scheduling, CPUFreq/CPUIdle, interrupts, timers, memory management, and performance/power management.
- Design reproducible workload experiments and use performance counters, traces, profiling tools, and power measurements to identify root causes and validate optimizations.
- Collaborate with CPU architecture, silicon, firmware, Kernel/OS, performance, application, and product teams to translate workload findings into hardware/software optimization opportunities.
- Work with China OEMs on technical workload discussions, customer requirements, performance/power analysis, and issue resolution.
- Support pre-silicon and post-silicon CPU characterization, bring-up, performance correlation, and debugging of complex cross-layer issues.
- Develop automation and analysis tools for workload profiling, performance measurement, regression detection, and data analysis.
- Clearly communicate technical findings, evidence-based recommendations, and follow-up actions to local and global engineering teams.
Minimum
Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering or computing field.
- Strong C/C programming and debugging skills;
experience with Python or other scripting languages is preferred.
- Working knowledge of modern ARM CPU microarchitecture and CPU power/performance tradeoffs, including pipelines, caches, MMU/TLB, coherency, interconnects, and memory hierarchy.
- Hands-on experience in mobile workload characterization, performance analysis, tuning, system optimization, or low-level software development.
- Experience profiling and tuning Android and/or iOS/iPhone workloads and identifying CPU-related performance and efficiency bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with Linux/Android system software and Linux kernel fundamentals.
- Ability to design reproducible experiments, interpret performance and power measurements, and develop clear, evidence-based engineering recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with perf, ftrace/trace-cmd, hardware performance counters, debuggers, or similar profiling/debugging tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong verbal and written English communication skills for collaboration with global teams.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with China OEMs on workload characterization, customer requirements, or performance-related issues.
- Experience with Linux scheduler, CPUFreq/CPUIdle, power management, memory subsystem, virtualization, or kernel performance optimization.
- Experience with pre-silicon simulation/emulation or post-silicon CPU bring-up and characterization.
- Familiarity with benchmark/workload methodology and statistical performance analysis.
- Experience analyzing CPU interactions with DDR, cache/QoS/resource-control technologies, or heterogeneous compute systems.
