Development Engineer

Job Title: APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) Senior Development Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Design, develop, and continuously optimize core APS algorithms for the mold manufacturing industry. Build executable scheduling models with complex shop-floor constraints to support rolling scheduling, dynamic rescheduling, and performance optimization, ensuring stable, efficient, and scalable scheduling results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and implement APS algorithms including constraint modeling, objective functions, solving logic, priority rules, and rescheduling mechanisms.
2. Develop rolling scheduling, dynamic rescheduling, rush-order response, and downtime recovery algorithms to improve responsiveness to abnormal scenarios.
3. Abstract and implement models based on business constraints: production resources, process routes, due dates, and equipment capabilities.
4. Implement limited/stable rescheduling for rush orders, anomalies, downtime, etc., minimizing plan disruption while ensuring delivery priorities.
5. Collaborate with implementation, product, operations, and shop-floor teams to convert business rules into system rules, parameters, and implementable algorithms.
6. Continuously improve solving efficiency, stability, interpretability, and computational performance for large-scale complex scenarios.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or related fields preferred.

1. Knowledge of heuristic algorithms, constraint programming, integer programming, or other scheduling/optimization methods.
2. Experience in Python, Java, C#, or C++, and APS/scheduling system development.
3. Capability in algorithm requirements analysis, technical solution decomposition, and module design.
4. Understanding of constraint modeling for equipment, processes, materials, changeovers, and due dates in discrete manufacturing.
5. Strong ownership, ability to track algorithm performance and drive iterative improvements.
