Engineer, Hardware Testing - Validation Tools

About The Role

As a test development engineer, you will contribute to the development of test systems for Harman products, including test rack commissioning for release, test rack operation for projects, test rack maintenance in technical and financial. Explore new test technologies/method based on local trend of market, especially for readiness for new technologies before test running of customer projects.

Also, you will collaborate with other global teams for more smart test tools development.

What You Will Do

• RFQ Support: Design and implement customized automated parameter testing and endurance testing plans based on testing requirements. Test rack strategy in Test Vision System, modular simulation/design and build of test rack, test rack and re-usable modules digitization.
• Test rack manufacturing: work on automatic test racks, including the design and manufacturing of test racks and functional modules; integrated hardware and software testing; data deviation analysis and troubleshooting; identifying test system compatibility issues; and continuously iterating to optimize test stability and efficiency.
• Test rack SW development/deployment for all products, test rack commissioning and releasing. Software development and framework maintenance, with a focus on automating testing processes and achieving high reusability of test scripts.
• Pre-validation: Collaborate with R&D, project, software testing, and system testing teams to support new product launches, version updates, specialized validation, and test data analysis; align test requirements and execution plans, support test environment setup and issue reproduction, provide log analysis and debugging inputs, and drive defect tracking and validation closure to ensure smooth delivery of project milestones.
• Innovation: Continuously partner with engineers in TTR global on HW/SW/Smart tools development to ensure that test requirements are met in different projects and products, fit for future. Participate in laboratory-related Global initiatives and innovation activities to drive the development of the SMART Lab.

What You Need To Be Successful

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2 years of experience in test development, software testing, system testing, validation tools, or automotive electronics validation is preferred.
• Working knowledge of digital audio interfaces and in-vehicle communication protocols, including A2B, S/PDIF, AVB, CAN, LIN, automotive Ethernet, UDS diagnostics, and CANoe-based simulation, network analysis, test automation, and diagnostic validation in automotive validation environments.
• Experience in pre-validation activities, including requirement review, test feasibility assessment, prototype bring-up, risk identification, and validation readiness confirmation before formal project execution.
• Solid software and system testing capability, including test case design, regression testing, defect tracking, log analysis, release-quality verification, system-level acceptance criteria definition, and troubleshooting across hardware, software, instruments, DUTs, communication interfaces, and data reporting flows.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical requirements, test plans, issue analyses, and validation reports. Effective written and spoken English communication is required for collaboration with global engineering teams.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Demonstrated capability in test data analysis, failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and structured problem solving, with the ability to translate measurement results into clear conclusions, corrective actions, and technical recommendations.
• Proficiency with NI-based test platforms, including LabVIEW, TestStand, NI-DAQ, and related instrument control tools; able to develop reusable test software, integrate third-party instruments, and support deployment, debugging, and maintenance.

  Experience with Python, C#, or other automation programming languages is preferred.

• Hands-on experience on ADAS test with HIL platform, supporting audio signal verification, interface debugging, and system-level validation. Familiarity with broadcast technologies and GNSS technologies.
• Hands-on experience with ECU-side embedded Linux and Linux networking, including system bring-up, boot/log analysis, SSH or serial debugging, systemd, basic BSP/kernel troubleshooting, NAT, routing, iptables/nftables, network namespaces, VLANs, and connectivity troubleshooting across ECUs, DUTs, instruments, and isolated test networks.
• Practical experience using engineering tools such as Python, AI tools, to improve coding efficiency, test script generation, data analysis, technical documentation, or day-to-day engineering workflows is a plus. Big data building up and utilization.
