Overview We are looking for a Power Platform Developer to join our Business Systems team and help us build the future of urban air mobility. This is your chance to directly impact the mission of certifying the Joby aircraft and scaling our manufacturing operations. As the technological backbone of Joby's operations, the Business Systems team plays a crucial role in engineering, manufacturing, quality, and more.

Our Power

Platform–based MES already runs end-to-end production at both JMS and JGG: from order placement and drawing review through production planning, raw material requisition, manufacturing execution, and QC inspection, to non-conformity (MRB) handling and shipment to Joby Aero with inbound receiving. This position is based at Joby Metal (JMS) in Shenzhen, the home base of the Business Systems team, where you will work side by side with the senior developers who built the system. You will play a key role on a small, rapidly growing MES team.

Working under the guidance of senior developers, you will grow from well-defined tasks toward independently owning modules of a live production system that factories run on every day — and because JMS and JGG share the same MES architecture with more than 80% commonality, the work you deliver typically serves both sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications and automated flows on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint) under the guidance of senior team members
• Analyze engineering and business workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for MES factory systems, and follow issues through to closure with clear root-cause summaries
• Learn and follow the team’s shared development standards — UI design system, component library, and naming conventions — so applications stay consistent across sites
• Participate in testing and releases through the team’s ALM process (Dev/UAT/Production environments) under guidance
• Collaborate closely with an international, cross-functional team to ensure that user experience design aligns with business goals and technical constraints
• Create and maintain process design and technical documentation to keep systems consistent and maintainable Required
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on experience developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps canvas apps, Power Automate) — through work, internships, or substantial personal projects
• A portfolio of projects demonstrating hands-on experience and business value
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively in global teams
• Ability to read technical documentation in English and communicate in written English Desired
• Experience studying or working abroad
• Experience developing solutions across multiple Office 365 services, such as SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-900 or PL-400)
• Familiarity with solution/environment concepts in Power Platform ALM

  Additional Information

  Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and bonus. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
