R&D System Engineer - Consumer Electronics

Product Development – System Engineer The job holder is responsible with coordinating the technical aspects of the project, ensuring the management of risk, quality, cost and performance of the product are optimized. This role is required to ensure overall technical product design are compliance to the product requirement.

You will base in Guangzhou, directly report to the Director, Product Development Asia of Sonova Consumer Hearing Business.

More about the role:

• Drives all technical discussion within the project team ensuring product requirement are communicated effectively to all relevant parties throughout entire phase of the project.
• Overall technical overview of product, identify over-arching issues between disciplines and resolve issues with holistic approach.
• Owner of the system design proposal, including creation of system block diagram through discussion with each discipline.
• Identify and assignment of technical work packages to the project team using MS AzureDevOps.
• Negotiations and validation of contract manufacturers’ solutions, assessing the maturity of solutions provided by 3rd party.
• Drives the project team to make technical related decision with transparency.
• Follows the development process and ensure technical maturity before each milestones of project phases.
• Able to travel overseas occasionally, especially to countries in Asia

More about you:

Master’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of working experience in relevant area of hardware/software/system engineering/product testing in product development environment.

Required Skillsets

• Strong knowledge and good understanding of overall system architecture of consumer audio product
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals (analog/digital circuits, power systems, RF and Antenna design)
• Experience in audio system design and consumer electronics
• Ability to interpret and analyze measurement reports with precision
• Familiarity with embedded systems debugging (UART, JTAG, Hterm)
• Understanding of RF concepts: matching networks, S-parameters, antenna design and review
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration with mechanical, acoustic and software engineers
