Software Development Engineer-Backend&Platform Services

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend services supporting data management, dataset management, data search, data mining, annotation, model training, benchmarking, data analysis, replay, and issue tracking.
• Design and maintain APIs using FastAPI, GraphQL, Spring Boot, REST, RPC, and Protocol Buffers as appropriate.
• Develop metadata-management, workflow-management, job-state-management, and task-management services.
• Integrate backend services with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, HDFS, and OSS.
• Integrate platform services with Airflow, Prefect, Argo Workflows, Ray, and Kubeflow for job execution and workflow orchestration.
• Develop APIs for data querying, dataset creation, job submission, annotation-task management, training-job management, benchmark execution, and result retrieval.
• Develop authentication, authorization, permission-management, audit, and access-control capabilities.
• Design and implement asynchronous and event-driven workflows using Kafka or equivalent messaging technologies where appropriate.
• Build reusable backend services and common platform capabilities shared across multiple AD data products.
• Ensure services are observable, scalable, resilient, and maintainable in production Kubernetes environments.
• Design service contracts and data models that support long-term evolution without tightly coupling individual platform components.
• Participate in performance tuning, production troubleshooting, code review, and backend architecture design.

  Required

  Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java.
• Experience developing production services using FastAPI, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, RPC, and distributed-service architecture.
• Strong database and SQL skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of asynchronous processing, concurrency, distributed systems, and fault handling.
• Strong Linux development skills.

  Qualifications

• Experience with FastAPI, GraphQL, Spring Boot, and Protocol Buffers.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Experience integrating Airflow, Prefect, Argo Workflows, Kubeflow, or Ray.
• Experience building data platforms, ML platforms, workflow systems, or developer platforms. Familiarity with autonomous-driving, robotics, or large-scale sensor-data systems.
