Senior Staff Technical Program Manager – Sustaining Product Development (sPDT Lead)

Product leadership does not end at launch. As the Senior Staff Technical Program Manager and sPDT Lead, you will provide end-to-end leadership for enterprise storage products throughout the sustaining lifecycle. You will unite global engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations, product management, and customer-facing teams to maintain product quality, execute critical product changes, support customer qualifications, and resolve complex production and field issues.

This senior technical leadership role requires strong technical credibility, system-level thinking, disciplined program execution, and the ability to influence decisions and outcomes across organizational boundaries without direct authority.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Ownership

• Provide end-to-end program leadership for enterprise storage products throughout the sustaining lifecycle.
• Lead global cross-functional execution across customer qualifications, product changes, production quality, firmware fixes, and maintenance releases.
• Direct complex customer escalations and technical task forces, driving containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, validation, and verified closure.
• Align engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations, product management, and customer-facing organizations around priorities, risks, decisions, dependencies, and commitments.
• Drive component qualifications, yield improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, and customer-requested enhancements while protecting product quality and customer commitments.
• Provide senior leadership with clear assessments of product health, customer impact, execution risk, mitigation plans, and decisions required.
• Improve issue-resolution turnaround time, sustaining governance, execution discipline, and organizational readiness.

Customer qualifications, product changes, production quality, firmware maintenance, and field issues continue throughout the product lifecycle. The sPDT Lead provides the cross-functional ownership needed to protect product quality, support customer commitments, control changes, and sustain long-term business performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience leading complex, multidisciplinary technical programs.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead globally distributed, cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Strong system-level thinking, analytical judgment, and structured problem-solving capability.
• Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear risks, priorities, decisions, and executable plans.
• Excellent communication skills across engineering teams, customer-facing organizations, and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise SSDs, storage devices, storage systems, datacenter platforms, or related technologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional task forces or critical customer escalations.
• System-level failure-analysis and root-cause-investigation expertise.
• Experience supporting products through customer qualification, production ramp, sustaining, and maintenance-release cycles.
• Experience driving product, component, or firmware changes in a production environment.
