Engineer (PostgreSQL) at BairesDev As a Software Engineer specializing in PostgreSQL, you will leverage deep database expertise to optimize performance and extend the core capabilities of our data infrastructure. You will act as a key technical resource for database internals, ensuring our systems are highly performant, scalable, and tailored to complex data requirements.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop custom PostgreSQL extensions to meet specific architectural and functional needs.
• Optimize complex queries and database schemas to ensure maximum performance and resource efficiency.
• Contribute to PostgreSQL internals and low-level optimizations to improve system reliability and throughput.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated stored procedures and triggers using PL/pgSQL for advanced data logic.
• Troubleshoot and resolve deep-seated database performance bottlenecks and architectural challenges.

What we are looking for

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on database systems and PostgreSQL.
• Proven expertise in developing and optimizing PostgreSQL extensions and PL/pgSQL.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, including storage engines and query planning.
• Hands-on experience with advanced query optimization and performance tuning at scale.
