I'm a Ph.D. graduate from Los Andes University, specializing in applied econometrics and analyzing large databases for policy impact evaluations. As an empirical microeconomist, my research interests encompass education, development, political economy, and economic history.
In my Job Market Paper, I focused on investigating the effects of public spending on academic achievement in secondary and higher education. My findings highlighted the crucial role of institutional arrangements in determining the efficiency of utilizing public resources within contexts of asymmetric decentralization.
During my Ph.D. studies, I delved into researching the impact of decentralization on historical gaps concerning local capacity for education provision and tax collection. This work has provided valuable insights into the dynamics between decentralization efforts and educational outcomes.
Additionally, I have contributed to the existing literature on structural reforms, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the key discussions and developments that governments worldwide have been engaged in over the past four decades.
I am passionate about leveraging rigorous economic analysis to inform evidence-based policy decision-making. With a strong foundation in applied econometrics and a multidisciplinary approach, I aim to drive positive societal change by bridging the gap between research and practical implementation.
