Endemic Wild Life | Aug2022 - Present (Freelance)
This client funds wildlife protection by selling roasted coffee and coffee-related products. The idea was to create three “sibling” brands that would have a specific theme: 1) Ocean life, 2) mountains and forests 3) the rainforest. After that, I designed the product packaging, mockups, catalog, and their current website using Wix.
IT’S NOW | Aug2021 - Present (Freelance)
It's Now it's a Colombian Marketing Agency. During the time I’ve been working with them, I’ve been in charge of designing the images and making short animations for the jewelry brand Pi Project by Pilar Restrepo. I’ve been exploring different ways to show her creations made with her love for color and geometry. The animations are usually seen by more than 1000 people organically. I’m currently designing their whole design system for their rebranding.
Graphic Design Team Leader | Design Pickle, AR - Remote | Nov2020 - May2022
Graphic Designer | Design Pickle, AR - Remote | March 2020 - Nov2020
I started as a Graphic Designer and, after six months, was promoted to Team Leader to manage nine designers. My managing style was to delegate and trust my team’s capacity to make the right calls, but I would always be on the lookout if they needed extra support. In five months, I increased my team’s monthly rate of design delivery by 70% without any notable increase in complaint rates or cancellations.
This was made by clarifying the company’s standards since designers weren’t sure about them and implementing optimization strategies such as batching, which allowed them to deliver more requests a day, balance their invested design time on each client better, and avoid overdelivering (investing more hours of work in a customer than suggested). I also was in charge of evaluating my designer’s capabilities so that I could allocate the right customers according to their needs. I also helped my Production Manager choose the right people when the company needed a new team or had a position opening.
During my period as a creative, my service had a 5-star rating due to my excellent collaboration-with-customer skills and understanding of their needs.
The Click Clack Hotel, Colombia | Industrial and Graphic Designer | Sep 2019 - Feb 2020
I supervised all interior design details in the hotel to make hosts' stay a better experience, like signage, instructions, interactive items, and visual aids. I also listened to complaints from the different departments and analyzed if I could solve or ease them through design. There were recurring complaints about not maids not cleaning the rooms, but after investigating, they had cleaned, though it wasn't easy to prove it.
So, I designed a paper door hanger to inform the host about who did the cleaning and when. The product reduced the complaints by 80%, and the maid's stress decreased since they could have physical proof of their work. The hosts complained about how small the surface was for placing items around the bathroom sink.
So I was in charge of adding a second one to increase the usable area. It was a simple task; however, it needed to be done in the shortest time so the rooms would be constantly available. I coordinated a team and explained how to install them so we could place several simultaneously.
The update reduced the complaints related to this by 60%. Hosts weren’t reading the notifications since the paper sheets were left on the floor and were difficult to notice. I then designed a mailbox that would indicate “there is mail” and also have a light so it would catch the host’s eye.
This reduced the number of times the front desk had to explain the same thing by a 55%.
