You Are
UST is seeking a Validation DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Python software development, Azure DevOps, and hardware/firmware validation to develop scalable automation solutions for semiconductor platform validation.
The Opportunity
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based automation frameworks for hardware and firmware validation.
- Develop and maintain validation test scripts using Python and leverage existing test libraries (such as Pythia) to maximize code reuse across multiple platforms and projects.
- Design, develop, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate validation workflows, test execution, reporting, and deployment activities.
- Integrate automated validation test suites into Azure DevOps pipelines and ensure reliable execution across multiple hardware platforms.
- Understand hardware platforms and firmware architecture to develop communication interfaces with Devices Under Test (DUTs), execute validation scenarios, and troubleshoot test failures.
- Build reusable, modular, and maintainable test automation by applying Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, SOLID design principles, and software architecture best practices.
- Debug pipeline failures, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and continuously improve automation coverage and execution efficiency.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, validation, and software engineering teams to analyze failures, identify root causes, and deliver automation improvements.
- Maintain source code using Git and follow best practices for version control, branching, and code reviews.
- Create technical documentation for automation frameworks, pipeline configurations, and validation processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation scalability, software quality, and engineering productivity.

What You Need
- Bachelor´s or in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Python programming with experience building scalable automation solutions.
- Developing reusable Python automation frameworks and test libraries.
- Working with Python frameworks (including Pythia-based libraries or similar automation frameworks).
- Developing and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrating automated validation workflows into Azure DevOps.
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, software design patterns, and software architecture.
- Working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Hardware and firmware validation concepts, including Devices Under Test (DUT), platform communication, and test debugging.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with semiconductor platform, firmware, or BIOS validation.
- Familiarity with PyTest, Robot Framework, or similar Python-based test frameworks.
- Knowledge of hardware interfaces and protocols such as PCIe, I2C, USB, UART, or Ethernet.
- Experience with YAML and automation configuration management.
- Exposure to Azure cloud services and DevOps best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure Boards.
- Experience optimizing automation frameworks for scalability, maintainability, and cross-platform test reuse.
