Required

• Experience with building Java Spring Boot backend applications
• Experience with JDBC, messaging middleware and REST APIs
• Able to review other colleagues’ code
• Willing to deliver not just application changes, but also design and implement test automation. The aim is not to rely on manual testing
• Their English needs to be fluent enough to be able to participate in phone / Teams calls without issues

Other

• Experience with deploying applications into Kubernetes, Openshift or other cloud is a plus
• Linux scripting experience is a plus
• Experience with the domain - FX trading and SWIFT payments is a plus

About the project

• It is not a green field project, the application has been around for about five years
• New features are being developed continuously, it is not a maintenance role
• The domain is FX and international payments. The application is used internally and by Barclays’ B2B clients (not end-users)
• The application is developed in Prague, but we work with teams both in London and Pune. Most of the stakeholders are based in London
