This innovative focus positions GGW Group at the forefront of digital transformation within the insurance sector, leveraging cutting-edge AI solutions to enhance operational efficiency, decision-making, and customer value.

About The Role

We are seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work directly with our business units to understand their processes deeply and develop production-ready AI and automation solutions that will revolutionize the way GGW Group operates. Unlike traditional roles where specifications are handed over to a separate development team, you will own the entire lifecycle of AI projects—from problem identification and architecture design to development and deployment.

This position offers the unique opportunity to work on high-impact challenges across various departments such as claims handling, underwriting, sales operations, and finance. You will have the autonomy to make strategic and technical decisions, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup environment within a well-established organization.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience. You should have a proven track record of building and deploying AI/ML systems in production environments, with hands-on expertise in large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI systems. The ability to quickly adapt to new domains and develop solutions under uncertainty is essential.

Strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset are vital for collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders and building credibility within the organization. Proficiency in English is required, and professional German language skills are considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Independently deliver end-to-end AI projects, including problem definition, architecture design, development, and deployment into production.
  • Develop and implement production-ready AI systems such as large language model workflows, RAG systems, agentic pipelines, automation processes, and domain-specific models.
  • Collaborate directly with various business units, including sales, claims, underwriting, and finance, as well as managing directors of subsidiaries, to identify needs and deliver tailored AI solutions.
  • Serve as the technical liaison for internal stakeholders, translating complex business problems into effective AI solutions and explaining technical concepts in accessible terms.
  • Contribute to the development of GGW Group’s AI strategy by fostering an internal AI culture, sharing knowledge, and building an internal knowledge base.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI technologies and incorporate best practices into project workflows.

Benefits

Joining GGW Group offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of AI-driven innovation in the insurance industry. You will enjoy the freedom to shape the future of AI within the organization, working on impactful projects that influence business strategy and operations. The role provides the chance to collaborate with a highly motivated, entrepreneurial team in a fast-paced environment with short decision-making pathways.

We offer a competitive overall package, flexible working arrangements, and an environment that encourages professional growth and innovation. You will also have the opportunity to help build an AI-native insurance brokerage model from the ground up, directly impacting the company's strategic evolution.

Equal Opportunity

GGW Group is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. We believe that a diverse workforce enhances our ability to innovate and serve our clients effectively.

We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds who are passionate about AI and eager to contribute to our transformative journey in the insurance industry.

You will own the problem, the architecture, and the outcome - both technically and from a business perspective.
  • You will work on the most important challenges across the Group, with the freedom to make far-reaching technical and strategic decisions every day. One week, you may build an end-to-end claims-handling automation for one of our brokers; the next, you may develop a data-driven underwriting analysis for one of our managing general agents.
