About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Backend Developer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-based backend services within an agile environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our system and software architecture, utilizing state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure, event-driven architectures, and serverless computing.

Your work will directly impact the development of innovative digital products that serve our clients and support our strategic growth. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects, with the possibility to expand into frontend tasks and participate in the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a successfully completed IT degree or an equivalent qualification, complemented by several years of professional experience in backend development. We welcome applications from career changers with relevant experience. Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, Kotlin, C++, C#, Python, Rust, or Swift is essential, along with experience working with AWS cloud technologies.

Familiarity with event-driven architectures like Kafka, SNS, SQS, and modern cloud databases such as DynamoDB, SQL, or NoSQL databases is required. A DevOps mindset, demonstrating willingness to support the entire process from development to deployment and operation, is highly valued. Additionally, curiosity about new technologies, a proactive learning attitude, and basic understanding of frontend technologies (e.g., React Native) are advantageous.

Fluency in German and English, high levels of self-responsibility, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include taking technical ownership of the conception, development, and continuous improvement of our cloud-based backend services. You will oversee the entire development process—from initial planning and implementation to operational management—ensuring high quality, scalability, and performance. Active participation in shaping our system and software architecture will be key, with a focus on utilizing modern cloud infrastructure, event-driven systems, and serverless solutions.

Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our systems and processes, ensuring they meet evolving business needs. There will also be opportunities to engage in frontend tasks and contribute to the full-stack development lifecycle, broadening your technical expertise.
