About The Role

Schwarz Digits is seeking an experienced Backend Developer for STACKIT Cloud Storage. Based in Bad Friedrichshall, Germany, you will join the IT – Cloud Services organization and help develop storage products for customers. In this role, you will contribute to services such as Object Storage, building automated self-service capabilities and REST APIs using Golang in a Kubernetes-based cloud environment.

You will participate in product development from design through ongoing improvement, helping shape the architecture and reliability of services within the STACKIT product family. You will collaborate with engineers and service teams to deliver solutions that integrate effectively with the STACKIT Portal, Terraform Provider, and central identity and access management services. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful cloud infrastructure and work with modern technologies in a growing, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

You bring professional experience in software development, with strong practical knowledge of Golang. You understand cloud environments and cloud architectures, and have experience with interface and communication technologies such as REST and gRPC. Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL and with Kubernetes is important for this role.

You are comfortable with professional software engineering practices, including development standards, build processes, and release management. An interest in IT infrastructure and storage services, particularly in highly automated environments using CI/CD and pipelines, will help you succeed. You learn new technologies quickly, communicate clearly in German and English, and enjoy sharing your experience with teammates and other developers.

You are also comfortable working collaboratively in international, agile teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve STACKIT storage products throughout their lifecycle, contributing to backend services and automated self-service capabilities. Build and maintain Golang-based solutions, including REST APIs, within a Kubernetes environment. Work with your team to define and implement software architecture that supports long-term stability, reliability, and customer needs.

Promote high software quality through thoughtful implementation, continuous improvement, and adherence to sound engineering practices. Coordinate technical and functional discussions with relevant STACKIT services to integrate products and features across the platform. Take end-to-end responsibility for the services you help deliver, working with internal teams to refine and enhance the customer experience.

Share knowledge, contribute to team learning, and help turn architectural decisions into production-ready solutions.
