About the Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing BioNTech's cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will support our mission to develop innovative immunotherapies and vaccines by ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments. Operating at the intersection of development and operations, you will leverage modern DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate processes and enable IT services that drive our success.

Your Contribution

Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure with a focus on scalability and security

Automate provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell

Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and high availability

Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins to enhance development workflows

Collaborate across teams to ensure best practices in DevSecOps are followed

Mentor junior engineers while driving adoption of cloud technologies within the organization A Good Match:

Several years of expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3)

Strong knowledge of networking concepts like DNS, routing, firewalls

Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/Bash/PowerShell) for automation

Experience with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes (EKS preferred)

Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch) for optimizing performance

Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability

Ability to work collaboratively within agile teams while leading technical initiatives

Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
