About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Dæly. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, primarily focusing on Azure and Kubernetes environments. Your expertise will drive the scaling, reliability, and security of our systems as we expand our platform to serve millions of users across Europe and beyond.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the architecture and operational excellence of a fast-growing tech company, working closely with our engineering team to implement best practices and innovative solutions. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end infrastructure, ensuring seamless deployment pipelines, and supporting backend development efforts. Your work will directly impact the stability, scalability, and security of our services, shaping the future of our platform as we prepare for significant growth and a potential migration to a new hosting provider.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience managing and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Deep practical expertise in Azure cloud services, including AKS, networking, storage, and IAM configurations.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and operational best practices.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or similar.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, service mesh, API gateways, and production identity and authentication systems.
• Solid backend development skills, with a good understanding of server-side programming.
• Proven ability to operate and optimize cloud infrastructure for reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, agile team.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of Dæly’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across all environments.
• Operate, maintain, and scale Kubernetes clusters in development, staging, and production, including performing upgrades, autoscaling, and networking configurations.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes and improve automation.
• Support backend development teams by providing infrastructure support, integrations, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Implement and maintain observability tools, including logs, metrics, alerting, and incident response procedures to ensure system health.
• Enhance identity and authentication infrastructure, contributing to security and compliance initiatives.
• Drive cloud cost optimization strategies to maximize resource efficiency and reduce expenses.
• Plan and execute a migration from Azure Germany to an EU-based hosting provider, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that align with company goals and customer needs.

We offer competitive compensation packages, with a salary range of €60,000 to €90,000 gross per year, commensurate with experience.
