Data Architect - Freelance

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a large-scale data transformation programme on a 12-month contract.

You will be responsible for designing and shaping the target data architecture, working closely with data engineering, technology and business teams to deliver scalable and sustainable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and develop data architecture across a large-scale transformation programme
• Design data models, data platforms and data integration solutions
• Develop target-state data architecture and technical roadmaps
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects and business stakeholders
• Define data flows, integration patterns and data structures
• Support the design of cloud-based data platforms
• Ensure solutions align with data governance, security and quality requirements
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data architecture

Required Experience

• Proven experience working as a Data Architect on large-scale programmes
• Strong knowledge of data architecture and data modelling
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms
• Strong experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience with data lakes, data warehouses and data integration
• Knowledge of Databricks and/or Snowflake
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT and data pipelines
• Experience working with data governance and data quality
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Previous experience working in complex enterprise environments

Contract Details

• 12-month initial contract
