About The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at M&M Software, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data-driven future of our clients. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable ETL/ELT processes utilizing advanced tools such as Databricks, Spark, and Python. Your expertise will help enhance data infrastructure, automate workflows, and implement modern data governance solutions.

Working closely with Data Architects and AI Engineers, you will contribute to creating production-ready data solutions that support sophisticated analytics and AI initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies within a flexible, innovative environment, either remotely or at one of our locations in St. Georgen im Schwarzwald or Hannover.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data engineering with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in developing and operating end-to-end data solutions is essential. You should be well-versed in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Python, Spark, Delta Lake, and (T-)SQL. Strong understanding of pipeline development, testing strategies, and data governance frameworks is required.

Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep), and version control with Git, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in both German and English are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. A proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include developing and optimizing scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Spark to ensure efficient data processing. You will manage and maintain Databricks workspaces, focusing on performance tuning and cost optimization. Building and automating CI/CD pipelines and implementing Infrastructure as Code will be integral to your role, ensuring streamlined deployment and reliable operations.

You will develop reusable data products and implement data governance measures to ensure compliance and data quality. Collaboration is vital; you will work closely with Data Architects and AI Engineers to deliver production-grade solutions that meet client requirements. Additionally, you will stay updated with industry best practices, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support the team in adopting new technologies and methodologies.
