Berlin | Full-Time / Hybrid The Role
My client is a Series A funded, technology company who are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop machine learning and optimisation systems that support complex operational decision-making. The role involves designing, improving, and deploying models that drive measurable business outcomes in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve forecasting, simulation, and optimisation models
- Monitor, evaluate, and maintain model performance in production
- Contribute to technical direction, methodology, and engineering standards
- Build and deploy robust, production-ready solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions
Requirements
- Experience building decision-support systems in real-world operational environments
- Strong expertise in one or more of: forecasting, optimisation, operations research, or applied machine learning
- MSc or PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent industry experience
- Advanced Python and SQL skills
- Experience with production ML systems, model monitoring, and experimentation.
- Familiarity with modern cloud, data, and software engineering tools
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
Preferred
- Experience in planning, optimisation, logistics, operations, or related domains
- German and/or French language skills
- Startup or high-growth company experience
