Your mission

We are hiring a DevOps Engineer to take ownership of CI/CD and delivery automation across our genomics and healthcare platform. This role sits within our infrastructure team but offers a clear growth path as the company scales, along with the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated DevOps team.

Today, DevOps responsibilities are shared across the infrastructure team. We are looking for someone who will step in, own the CI/CD domain, and progressively shape how we build, test, and ship software with the autonomy and support to grow into a leadership role.

About Us

Genomcore is transforming how genomic and clinical data are processed and delivered. Our Platform as a Service (PaaS) empowers healthcare professionals with secure, scalable tools, deployed in AWS and Azure, and integrated with high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.

We operate at the intersection of software delivery and infrastructure-as-code, combining modern DevOps practices with advanced cloud and Kubernetes operations in a highly regulated environment.

What You Will Do

  • CI/CD Ownership: Take full ownership of our delivery pipelines, from code commit through production deployment, using Bitbucket Pipelines and ArgoCD with a GitOps approach.

  • Kubernetes Operations: Manage and evolve our multi-cluster Kubernetes environments across Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, and on-prem clusters, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Helm, driving reproducibility and automation across all environments.

  • GitOps and Delivery: Design and enforce GitOps workflows with ArgoCD, enabling safe, traceable, and auditable deployments across development, staging, and production.

  • Observability and Reliability: Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Elasticsearch, and Prometheus to ensure we detect and respond to issues before they impact users.

  • Security and Compliance: Integrate security into the delivery pipeline (shift-left), manage secrets with HashiCorp Vault, and ensure compliance with ENS, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA requirements.

  • Collaboration and Growth: Work closely with backend, platform, and product teams. As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to shape and lead a dedicated DevOps function.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.

  • Solid experience with Kubernetes in production (deployment, troubleshooting, scaling, networking).

  • Proven track record designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

  • Experience with GitOps tools and patterns (ArgoCD, Flux, or similar).

  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.

  • Scripting proficiency in Bash and/or Python.

  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.

  • Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ArgoCD specifically, including ApplicationSets and multi-cluster management.

  • Knowledge of AWS services in depth (EKS, ECR, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation/CDK).

  • Exposure to Azure (AKS, ACR, Azure DevOps).

  • Experience with secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).

  • Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, ELK/EFK).

  • Understanding of security and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, ENS, HIPAA, GDPR).

  • Experience with Helm chart development and management.

  • Background in on-prem or hybrid cloud environments.

  • A track record of building or growing DevOps teams or a strong desire to do so.

What We Offer

  • Full-time, remote position based in Spain.

  • A clear growth path: start as an individual contributor within the infrastructure team, with the opportunity to build and lead a DevOps team as the company scales.

  • The chance to own a critical domain CI/CD and delivery from day one.

  • A collaborative, fast-paced team where your work directly impacts healthcare.

  • Work across multi-cloud, Kubernetes, and GitOps domains with modern tooling.

  • Competitive salary based on your experience and the value you bring.
