Description
We are looking for a
DevOps Engineer to join a team responsible for operating and further developing a productive
microservices application in the AWS Cloud. The main focus is on
cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, automation, monitoring, security, and stable deployment and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and provide technical support for the production application and its associated infrastructure in the AWS Cloud.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure components, analyze issues, and troubleshoot incidents and failures.
- Address security findings and perform required patching and upgrade activities.
- Maintain and further develop automated provisioning and configuration of environments using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Maintain and further develop Kubernetes clusters and their associated infrastructure configurations.
- Provide technical support for the provisioning and deployment of containerized applications using Docker, Helm, and Flux.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to deployments and release processes.
- Manage and configure AWS IAM roles and permissions.
- Provide technical support for the integration and configuration of PostgreSQL databases using AWS RDS.
- Set up and manage secrets and encryption mechanisms using AWS Secrets Manager and AWS KMS.
- Maintain and further develop monitoring and logging solutions based on Grafana and OpenSearch.
- Manage and configure the Kafka infrastructure based on Amazon MSK Serverless.
- Maintain and optimize automated node scaling in Kubernetes using Karpenter.
- Maintain and further develop automated dependency and update processes using Renovate.
- Develop, modify, and maintain AWS Lambda functions using Python.
- Analyze technical issues related to infrastructure, deployments, IAM roles, database connections, and secrets, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Consolidate and technically enhance the existing infrastructure.
- Create, maintain, and further develop technical operational documentation, particularly runbooks, operational processes, and procedures.
- Provide technical support for standardizing and automating recurring operational activities.
- Contribute technically to preparing the application and operational processes for increased requirements regarding availability and operational stability.
Must-Have Requirements
- More than 3 years of experience in the operational management of productive IT applications within cloud infrastructures, at an Intermediate level.
- More than 3 years of experience configuring and administering AWS Cloud infrastructure, at an Intermediate level.
- More than 3 years of experience with Kubernetes as a container platform for deploying and managing containerized applications, at an Intermediate level.
- More than 3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OpenTofu, at an Intermediate level.
- Experience in operating business-critical applications with established incident management processes, at a Junior level with up to 3 years of experience.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Up to 3 years of experience with the AWS Cloud platform, at a Junior level.
- Up to 3 years of experience with containerized applications such as Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, or GitOps, at a Junior level.
- Up to 3 years of experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration, at a Junior level.
- Up to 3 years of experience in monitoring, logging, and technical troubleshooting, at a Junior level.
- Up to 3 years of experience with AWS Cloud Security, including IAM, secrets management, and encryption, at a Junior level.
- Up to 3 years of experience in IT Operations Management, at a Junior level.
- Up to 3 years of experience in deployment and release automation, at a Junior level.
