About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled (Senior) DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid or remote setting, primarily based in Ratingen or Frankfurt am Main.

As a key player in our DevOps and infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT environments that support our innovative projects. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our system landscapes, including cloud-native applications, microservices, and AI-assisted engineering platforms.

In this position, you will be instrumental in shaping the automation pipelines, managing containerized environments, and supporting the deployment of large language models and AI tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, enhance system performance, and implement best practices for security and compliance. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our development and operational workflows, enabling our clients to leverage the full potential of modern cloud and AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years professional experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, Configuration Management, or Platform Engineering.
• Proficiency with DevOps platforms, especially GitLab, and experience with automated deployment pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift 4, including enterprise cluster administration.
• Familiarity with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD processes, build, test, and deployment automation tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and scripting languages such as Ansible, Terraform, Shell, Go, or Python.
• Practical experience with container technologies like Docker.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Elastic, Splunk, or Opsgenie.
• Understanding of security principles related to BSI standards, IT infrastructure security, Zero Trust architecture, secret management, and identity & access management (LDAP, SAML, OIDC, OAuth2).
• Ability to conduct structured error analysis, incident management, and crisis communication.
• Fluent in German and English at C1/C2 level.
• Residency in Germany is required.
• Additional experience with storage and platform technologies such as Ceph, OpenShift Data Foundation, or network/DNS management is advantageous.
• Background in Linux system administration and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code).
• Experience with LLM infrastructure operations, including API gateways, model routing, and GPU workloads, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive IT projects from initial conception through rollout and into stable production operation.
• Ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of Linux-based environments, microservices, and web applications.
• Configure and optimize DevOps pipelines focusing on continuous integration and delivery to facilitate efficient and reliable development cycles.
• Integrate AI-assisted engineering tools like Claude Code into development and operational workflows to enhance productivity.
• Develop and operate LLMOps platforms to enable the safe and effective deployment of large language models within enterprise environments.
• Implement and manage Docker environments to support scalable, standardized application deployment.
• Promote automation and standardization initiatives to maintain a stable, high-performing application landscape.
• Take ownership of 3rd-level support, including advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex system issues.
• Utilize collaboration tools effectively to foster knowledge sharing, transparency, and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to security, data protection, and operational standards.
