About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Anwendungsentwicklung Komposit department. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex applications within an agile environment, primarily focusing on the composite insurance sector.
You will work closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet the evolving needs of our clients. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and methodologies, fostering innovation and efficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects within a supportive team, utilizing modern development tools and frameworks to deliver state-of-the-art IT solutions.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in (Wirtschafts-)Informatik or a comparable qualification, complemented by significant professional experience in software development. You should have in-depth knowledge of Java, particularly with Java EE and Jakarta EE frameworks.
Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Selenium is essential. Practical experience with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, including hybrid approaches, is required. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for daily project management and documentation is expected.
Knowledge of legacy systems such as Cobol, SQL, or Mainframe technologies is advantageous but not mandatory. The candidate must demonstrate high reliability, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Fluency in German at least at C1 level is essential for effective collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of developing and maintaining applications within an agile framework, focusing on the composite insurance sector.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with relevant Fachbereiche (specialist departments) to ensure optimal implementation of requirements and seamless integration of solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve agile processes and development methodologies to enhance team productivity and project outcomes.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into ongoing projects.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior developers to foster a collaborative learning environment.
