About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer to join our client’s dynamic product team in Waterloo, ON. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build scalable SaaS solutions that make a meaningful impact across multiple industries.

As a key member of the development team, you will own features from conception through deployment, working across the full technology stack. You will utilize React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend to develop enterprise web applications used by organizations in education, telecom, and government sectors.

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating clean, maintainable code and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will participate in architectural discussions, design microservices, develop REST APIs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides a platform to influence the technical direction of the platform, solve complex engineering problems, and deliver high-quality software solutions that support our clients’ missions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience developing full stack web applications.
• Strong expertise in backend development using Node.js, with a proven track record of building scalable services.
• Extensive experience in frontend development with React, creating responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript, asynchronous programming, and REST API development.
• Hands-on experience working within a microservices architecture.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB.
• Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, scalable application design, and engineering best practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and confidence in technical discussions.
• Commitment to writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications leveraging Node.js and React technologies.
• Create scalable backend services and RESTful APIs to support SaaS applications.
• Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern frontend practices.
• Design and implement solutions within a microservices architecture, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Develop integrations utilizing messaging technologies like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL to support high-performance applications.
• Participate in architectural planning, feature design, and technical decision-making processes.
• Translate user stories and product requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and promote best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across various components including frontend, backend, APIs, messaging services, and databases.
• Assist in establishing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate long-term maintenance and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to ensure solutions meet both technical specifications and business needs.
