About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Application Development department specializing in composite applications. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development and maintenance of applications within an agile environment, primarily focusing on the insurance sector. Your expertise will help shape the digital transformation efforts of our organization, ensuring that our solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with product owners, business units, and cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in a stimulating environment, leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background, preferably with a degree in (Wirtschafts-)Informatik or a comparable qualification, complemented by relevant professional experience. Deep knowledge of Java development, especially with Java and Jakarta EE, is essential. Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Selenium is required.

Experience working with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, including hybrid approaches, will be highly valued. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for daily project management and documentation is necessary. Additional experience with legacy systems such as Cobol, SQL, or Mainframe technologies is advantageous but not mandatory.

The successful candidate should demonstrate high reliability, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Fluency in German at least at C1 level is mandatory for effective collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications independently within an agile framework, with a primary focus on insurance-related composite solutions.
  • Engage closely with Product Owners to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with various business units to ensure the optimal implementation of features and functionalities, aligning technical solutions with business goals.
  • Continuously improve agile processes and development practices within the team and across projects to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high standards of software quality and performance.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into ongoing projects.
