About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Application Development department specializing in composite insurance solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development and maintenance of critical applications within an agile environment. Your primary focus will be on developing robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions that support our clients’ insurance processes.

You will work closely with product owners to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring seamless communication between technical teams and stakeholders. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our agile processes and methodologies, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.

Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification, complemented by substantial professional experience in Java development. You should have profound expertise in Java and Jakarta EE technologies, with a strong understanding of modern development tools and frameworks. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, build tools like Maven, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is essential.

Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and automated testing tools such as Selenium is highly desirable. You should also have hands-on experience working with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, including hybrid approaches. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for project management and documentation is required.

Knowledge of COBOL, SQL, or mainframe technologies is advantageous but not mandatory. We seek reliable team players with excellent communication skills, fluency in German at least at C1 level, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications focused on composite insurance solutions within an agile team environment.
• Collaborate closely with product owners to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure optimal implementation of functional and technical requirements.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to improve team workflows.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure the quality and security of developed applications through rigorous testing and adherence to best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation using Jira and Confluence, and stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Support the integration of new technologies and tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
