About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Developer / Game Designer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team at our locations in Essen or Würzburg. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing interactive training modules that transform complex real-world processes into engaging 3D scenarios. Your work will directly influence how users learn, decide, and act within our training environment.

You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including developers, subject matter experts, and product managers, to create compelling user experiences that are both intuitive and motivating. Your technical expertise and creative input will help optimize our training solutions across various devices, including web and VR platforms, ensuring performance, usability, and consistency. Furthermore, you will contribute to code reviews, documentation, and scalability efforts, supporting the continuous improvement of our innovative training platform.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background in Games Engineering, Game Development, or a related field. Hands-on experience in game design and Unity development is essential, with proficiency in C# and familiarity with other game engines being advantageous. A strong understanding of 3D modeling, preferably with tools like Blender, and experience in creating immersive environments will set candidates apart.

You should demonstrate good UX principles, ensuring interactions are user-friendly and engaging. A proactive startup mentality, characterized by independence, pragmatism, and curiosity for innovative solutions, is highly valued. Fluency in both German and English, along with excellent communication skills, is required to thrive in our collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive training solutions by translating real processes into playable 3D scenarios using Unity for web and VR platforms.
• Create compelling user experiences that are clear, motivating, and consistent across devices.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including developers, subject matter experts, and product managers, to develop game mechanics and scenario-specific features.
• Optimize performance, usability, and functionality for all supported devices, ensuring seamless device integration and user satisfaction.
• Participate in code reviews, maintain comprehensive documentation, and contribute to the scalability and robustness of our training platform.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in game development and digital training to continuously enhance our offerings.
