About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team in Nürnberg, Germany. This pivotal role involves supporting strategic initiatives aimed at replacing our existing portfolio management system within the general insurance sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the technological future of our application landscape, particularly focusing on the integration and development of a new Java-based portfolio management system.

As part of an agile team, you will collaborate closely with business units, IT operations, and external service providers to ensure seamless implementation and continuous improvement of our software solutions.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in backend development with Java, complemented by several years of professional experience in similar roles. You should have a genuine passion for software development and a keen interest in working with new technologies and frameworks. A solid educational foundation is essential, such as a completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist, a degree in computer science, or an equivalent qualification.

Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently and within a team are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Support the strategic overhaul of the existing portfolio management system within the general insurance division, actively contributing to the technological realignment of our application landscape.
• Lead the integration of a new Java-based portfolio management system, bringing your expertise in architecture, development, and technical design to ensure seamless functionality.
• Independently resolve technical challenges associated with replacing legacy software and integrating new solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Take responsibility across all phases of software development, including conceptualization, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, IT operations, and external vendors, to align development efforts with organizational goals.
• Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of our software architecture, development processes, and technological strategies.
