Backend Developer (Java / Microservices / DevOps) – Germany
Location: Remote + approximately 81 days onsite in Frankfurt
Start Date: 04 May 2026
Duration: Until 31 December 2029
Contract Type: Permanent employees only (no freelancers)

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join a long-term project focused on building scalable, cloud-native applications within a modern DevOps environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain microservices-based applications (Java / Node.js)
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Participate in software design and architecture discussions
- Perform testing, debugging, and end-to-end validation
- Operate applications within a DevOps model
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions
- Provide regular updates and participate in project meetings
Must-Have Skills (3+ years each)
- Java and/or Node.js
- Microservices architecture
- Kubernetes and AWS
- Kafka (event streaming)
- DevOps: GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, Linux containers
- Monitoring: Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch
- End-to-end testing
Nice to Have
- Databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, ArangoDB
- Python for data analysis
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Jira and Confluence
- Structured problem solving
- Experience in transport or logistics environments
