The Role

• Develop and operate highly scalable Java applications with Apache Kafka for leading financial institutions and significant players in the German financial market.
• Lead the conception and implementation of event-driven microservices architectures in the deposit and securities environment.
• Modernize legacy systems (HOST/COBOL) by building future-proof Cloud-Native solutions with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate closely with specialist departments, product owners, and architects to shape the digital transformation of critical financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (BaFin, MiFID II) and the highest security and compliance standards.
• Contribute your expertise in code reviews, pair programming, and as a mentor for junior and mid-level developers.

What You'll Need

• Completed studies in (Business) Informatics or a comparable degree.
• Several years of Java experience (11+, ideally 17/21) with Spring Boot/Cloud and comprehensive Kafka expertise (Streams, Connect, Schema Registry, Avro/Protobuf, highly available clusters).
• Profound knowledge of Microservices, Event Driven, and Domain Driven Design, with experience in REST, GraphQL, and asynchronous communication patterns.
• Experience in the Financial Services sector, ideally in the deposit, securities, or payment transaction environment, and understanding of regulatory requirements (BaFin, MiFID II).
• Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Maven/Gradle, Git, IntelliJ IDEA, Kafka, PostgreSQL/Oracle, MongoDB.
• Passion for agile methodologies, Clean Code, software architecture, and a desire to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions.
