As our Lead Software Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping this mindset within your team. You will balance technical excellence with product impact, helping engineering become a driving force behind Advidi’s future product direction.

This is a role for someone who wants real ownership. You will be responsible for technical architecture, product quality, delivery, and the engineering culture within your team. You will remain hands-on in the codebase while also mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and working closely with business and product stakeholders.

You will help further develop this AI engineering culture within your team.

You will report directly to the CTO and, after an onboarding period, lead a team of up to five engineers.

Responsibilities:

As Lead Software Engineer, you will:

• Lead one of our development teams, owning its technical output, delivery quality, and engineering culture.

• Manage, coach, and mentor 3–5 engineers, supporting both their technical and professional growth.

• Actively contribute to the codebase and remain close to the technical details.

• Drive architectural decisions and technical planning for both existing systems and new product initiatives.

• Partner with business and product stakeholders to translate opportunities, priorities, and requirements into clear technical direction.

• Help strengthen a product-first innovation mindset within engineering.

• Improve the reliability, scalability, maintainability, and observability of our product portfolio.

• Set a high bar for engineering quality through clean code, thoughtful architecture, testing, documentation, and pragmatic technical decision-making.

• Help evolve our AI engineering practices, including how we use AI tools for development, documentation, code review, testing, and technical planning.

• Maintain and modernize an existing portfolio of products while supporting future product innovation.

Required skills:

We are looking for someone with:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 7 years of relevant software engineering experience.

• At least 1 year of experience in a lead, tech lead, or engineering management role.

• Strong proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or Java.

• Hands-on experience with cloud computing, ideally AWS.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS CDK or similar tooling.

• The ability to write clean, reliable, and scalable code.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders.

• A proven track record of delivering large-scale or complex software projects.

• A strong sense of engineering quality, ownership, and accountability.

• An AI engineering mindset: you actively explore how AI can improve engineering workflows, while applying strong technical judgment to its use.

It is a plus if you have:

• Strong knowledge of SQL and query performance optimization.

• Experience working with large datasets or data-intensive systems.

• Deep familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.

• Experience modernizing existing systems or evolving product platforms.

• Experience introducing better engineering practices across a team, such as improved documentation, testing, code review, observability, or AI-assisted development workflows.

• Experience working in a product-focused engineering environment where technical decisions are closely connected to business impact.
