Lead Software Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team for a modern web platform (Angular/React, Java, Python, databases, Kafka).
• Drive the technical roadmap in collaboration with Product Management.
• Advance AI-native platform development by designing agents, skills, and workflows for healthcare users.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and other product teams to ensure consistency and clear interfaces.
• Coach and mentor engineers to foster ownership, proactivity, and a modern engineering culture.

What You'll Need

• Proven experience in technical leadership (e.g., Tech Lead, Principal Engineer) for modern web applications.
• End-to-end responsibility for productive systems.
• Strong knowledge of core stack: React/Angular, Java Spring Boot (Quarkus a plus), Python, Kafka, Terraform.
• Experience with cloud and DevOps practices (Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD) and distributed, scalable systems.
• Demonstrated effective use of AI in software engineering, including agentic coding tools and AI pipelines.
• Fluent in German and English.
