Lead Software Engineer (.NET / React)

Berlin | Permanent | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | ASAP Start A growing SaaS business is looking for a hands on Lead Software Engineer to join a product engineering team building and scaling customer facing platforms used across Europe.

This is a technical leadership role where you'll lead a small team of engineers while remaining actively involved in architecture, development, and delivery. The company is investing heavily in platform modernisation, cloud infrastructure, and AI assisted engineering workflows.

You'll work closely with Product, DevOps, Architecture, and senior leadership to help shape the next generation of the platform while improving engineering standards, scalability, and delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team
• Drive technical delivery and support the team day to day
• Contribute hands on across backend and platform engineering
• Collaborate with Product and Customer teams to scope and deliver features
• Identify technical risks, blockers, and dependencies early
• Support platform modernisation and cloud native engineering initiatives
• Help define engineering best practices, tooling, and quality standards
• Work closely with Architecture and DevOps teams on long term technical direction

Tech Environment

• C# / .NET
• React or Vue
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Azure, AWS, or GCP
• CI/CD and modern cloud infrastructure
• AI assisted development tooling such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot

What They're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience building software with C# and .NET
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and containerised environments
• Comfortable working across architecture and delivery
• Experience operating within product led or SaaS businesses
• Strong communication skills and ownership mentality
• EU/EEA work authorisation required
