About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Backend Python Developer to join a pioneering start-up focused on leveraging data and artificial intelligence to optimize product planning and scheduling solutions for process manufacturing. This full-time, permanent position based in Hamburg offers a hybrid working model, with remote work permitted on Mondays and Fridays.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing advanced simulation algorithms and enhancing the company's core software platform. You will work within a dynamic team environment, contributing to the evolution of data-driven planning solutions that increase client profitability and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Python development, with a strong understanding of software design and architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with simulation algorithms, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial context.
• Strong knowledge of additional programming languages such as Go or Rust.
• Experience with end-to-end project delivery, from development through to deployment and operations.
• Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) processes and tools to improve developer experience and productivity.
• Ability to consolidate backend objects to support concurrent editing and enhance system performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize high-performance algorithms.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-performance simulation components that underpin the company's planning algorithms.
• Optimize algorithms to improve system efficiency and scalability, ensuring reliable performance under load.
• Enhance the developer experience by improving CI/CD pipelines and automation processes.
• Consolidate backend objects to support concurrent editing, ensuring data integrity and system robustness.
• Drive the testing strategy for backend components, including writing and maintaining unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and frontend developers, to deliver feature increments and bug fixes.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation to support ongoing development efforts.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve the company's software solutions.
