As a Python Developer (m/w/d) specializing in Backend and Data Engineering, you will be at the core of developing and maintaining the data-driven backbone of our services. Your primary responsibility will be designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance backend applications and data pipelines that are critical to our business operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data processing, reliable ETL workflows, and scalable API integrations. Solid knowledge of SQL, particularly with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, is essential. Experience in designing and optimizing ETL processes and data pipelines is required. Familiarity with performance profiling and tuning to improve code efficiency is highly valued. Additionally, experience with ITSM tools such as Jira and ServiceNow, along with a DevOps mindset—knowledge of Docker, Git, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana—are considered advantageous. A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style is crucial for success in this role.

Your core responsibilities will include

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs primarily using Python and FastAPI.
• Serving as a key point of contact for technical support, handling and resolving service requests and tickets via ITSM tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
• Developing and enhancing critical ETL processes and data pipelines to ensure accurate and efficient data processing.
• Analyzing existing data workflows to identify performance bottlenecks, implementing optimizations to improve speed and efficiency.
• Creating and optimizing SQL queries, ensuring robust database interactions with systems like Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Ensuring code quality through testing, and creating Docker containers for deployment; collaborating closely with DevOps teams for system operation and maintenance.
• Contributing to the technical architecture of new data solutions and documenting your work comprehensively within internal wikis and Jira.
