About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer (m/w/d) to join our backend and data engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing data-driven applications that are critical to our business operations.
Your primary focus will be on designing scalable backend services, implementing performant ETL processes, and ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our data pipelines. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the architecture of new data solutions, improve existing workflows, and support the continuous enhancement of our digital document management systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with modern Python frameworks such as FastAPI and Airflow, and to influence the technical stack actively.
Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a completed vocational training or comparable professional experience in software development. You should have proven expertise in Python, with several years of backend development experience.
Strong knowledge of SQL, particularly with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, is essential, along with hands-on experience in designing and optimizing ETL processes. Familiarity with performance profiling and tuning of Python code is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style.
Experience with DevOps practices, Docker, GitLab, and monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities Your core responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs primarily using Python and FastAPI. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing business-critical ETL processes and data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and processing efficiency.
Performance optimization of existing workflows will be a key task, involving identifying bottlenecks and applying targeted improvements. You will also develop complex SQL queries and optimize database interactions with systems such as Oracle and PostgreSQL. Ensuring code quality through testing and creating Docker containers for deployment will be part of your routine.
Additionally, you will contribute to the technical architecture of new data solutions and document your work comprehensively within our internal systems. Collaboration with the DevOps team for deployment and operational stability is essential, and you will participate in cross-team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
