About The Role We are currently seeking two Anwendungsentwicklerinnen / Anwendungsentwickler for Python (DevOps) to join our IT department in Bonn. These roles are integral to our digital transformation initiatives, focusing on the development and operational management of web applications and online services.

The successful candidates will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based web portals that serve our internal and external stakeholders. They will work within a DevOps environment, sharing responsibility for the stability, performance, and availability of applications. The role requires translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, developing monitoring and incident management systems, and ensuring seamless integration with internal and external systems.

Additionally, candidates will contribute to the development of AI-supported applications and data models, supporting innovative projects that enhance our digital services. Collaboration in agile teams and active participation in shaping our DevOps culture are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications The ideal candidates will possess a completed university degree (Bachelor’s or Diplom) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification. They should have proven experience in Python development, including automation and application creation, with a strong emphasis on code quality, maintainability, and testing.

Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools is essential, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), Linux environments, version control systems such as Git, and tools like SonarQube for code quality assurance. Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and experience developing and integrating REST and SOAP interfaces are also required. Candidates should demonstrate a structured and responsible approach to work, enjoy solving complex challenges collaboratively, and ideally have prior experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer in an agile setting.

Proficiency in German (minimum level C1) for both written and spoken communication is necessary, along with a willingness to undertake occasional business trips.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance Python-based web applications and portals that facilitate our digital services for clients and internal users.
• Take shared responsibility for the operational stability, performance, and security of applications within a DevOps environment, implementing continuous improvements.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective architectural solutions, including conducting technical analyses and effort estimations.
• Develop and operate monitoring systems for applications and interfaces, performing incident analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective measures to ensure high availability.
• Develop and maintain interfaces and integrations with internal and external systems to ensure reliable data exchange and interoperability.
• Contribute to the development of structured data models and technical foundations for AI-supported applications, automation of business processes, and innovative functionalities.
• Participate actively in agile Scrum teams and cross-departmental projects, bringing forward ideas for technical enhancements and fostering a culture of continuous development and learning.
