About The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Developer or Software Architect to take ownership of a Java-based backend and Angular frontend application. This is a remote role suited to someone who can operate independently, make sound architectural decisions, and also get hands-on with implementation when needed.

Whether you see yourself as a hands-on senior engineer or a technical architect, we want to hear from you — the level of the role will be shaped around the right candidate.

What You'll Do

Own and evolve the architecture of a Java backend and Angular frontend application
Design and implement new features, integrations, and system improvements
Make key technical decisions around scalability, maintainability, and performance
Review code, mentor other developers, and help raise the overall engineering bar
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Contribute to technical documentation and best practices

What We're Looking For

Java — strong professional experience (backend development, API design, application architecture)
Angular — strong professional experience (frontend architecture, component design, state management)
Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns
Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly
Prior experience in a senior or architect-level role is a plus

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms and deployment pipelines
Experience with database design and optimisation
Background in system integration or enterprise application development
