About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Software Developer specializing in Modelling & Simulation to join our "Modelling & Simulation Software Product Line" team within the "Studies and Simulation" department located in Immenstaad am Bodensee. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing innovative simulation architectures for future Systems of Systems and products.

Your expertise will contribute to the enhancement of our proprietary simulation framework, which is pivotal for operational analysis, system optimization, and early-stage design decision-making. As part of an international and multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, including customers and project partners, to deliver complex simulation solutions aligned with leading defense programs and research initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and strategic defense projects, fostering innovation and technical excellence.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a successful academic background with a university degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of practical experience in software development and simulation projects, demonstrating a strong foundation in programming, particularly in C++ (preferably C++ 11/14/17 or newer).

Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies such as GitHub, GitLab, and agile practices like Scrum is essential. Knowledge of GUI libraries such as Qt, 3D modeling, OpenGL, OpenSceneGraph, and game engines like Unity3D will be advantageous. Fluency in German (C2 level) and English (B2 level) in spoken and written communication is required.

Additional skills in working with simulation interfaces, system integration, and cross-disciplinary collaboration will enhance your suitability for this role. Candidates with experience in military domains—land, air, sea, space, or cyber—will be preferred.

Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include actively participating in agile project teams to develop and extend our simulation tools. You will implement user and system requirements to create accurate and efficient simulations across various military domains, including land, air, sea, space, and cyber.

The role involves programming in C++, designing and integrating interfaces for external hardware and software systems, and enhancing existing simulation capabilities. Supporting project leaders during client presentations and meetings will be part of your duties, ensuring clear communication of technical solutions. You will also assist in preparing proposals, defining scope, timelines, and budgets for new work packages.

Collaboration with research institutions, industry partners, and internal departments will be vital for practical implementation and testing of simulation models. Additionally, you may be responsible for coordinating research projects, managing work packages, and engaging in technical exchanges with industry and academic partners. Your work will contribute directly to the successful delivery of complex defense simulations and research projects, ensuring adherence to quality, time, and cost parameters.
